Home School--Parent Information
The following information is provided for parents who are (or who are contemplating) home schooling their children. It is the parent's responsibility to be familiar with and follow any related legislation or guidance from the NH Department of Education.
Home School Liasion for SAU#61 (Parent Contact): Ruth Ellen Vaughn
A letter declaring a parent's intent to home school is due to the SAU office by August 15 each year--the beginning of the school year. This must include the student's full legal name, date of birth, legal residence, and parent contact information.
*Documentation of home school program (standardized testing and/or portfolio review) is due to the SAU office by July 1--the close of the previous school year.

Administrative Rules (Ed 315)
The Home Education rules under revision have been withdrawn from the rulemaking process to add language changes necessary by the passage of HB 406, in 2006 and again by the passage of SB 337in 2008. Please see the Technical Advisory for HB 406, revising certain provisions of the home education statutes.
The Home Education Advisory Council is preparing new language for Ed 315 and will be publishing that language when it is approved by the State Board of Education.
