Farmington School District Technology Vision Statement

The Farmington School District will develop its technology infrastructure to enhance communication, facilitate professional development, and support curriculum for student achievement.

The vision of the plan is to ensure that all students enrolled in SAU#61 school develop the technology skills necessary to utilize existing and emerging technologies to prepare them for life-long learning as well-informed and productive members of a global society.

To this end, students will:
•    Become responsible for their own learning
•    Enhance critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills
•    Engage in collaboration and research
•    Focus on process and apply learning in real-life experiences through project-based learning
•    Demonstrate mastery of educational goals through performance.

District Technology Goals

1.    Acquire hardware, software, and peripherals to support proposed technology upgrades and models.
2.    Maintain and upgrade adequate access to web-based communication, collaboration, and distance learning.
3.    Develop and maintain a wide-area-network (WAN) to provide access to shared resources and improve management and administration.  
4.    Provide professional development opportunities for staff in technology literacy and skills.
5.    Integrate ICT standards and portfolios with existing and developed curriculum.
6.    Share technology with the community including adult education and community labs.
